Sometimes you just need a heart-to-heart.

H2H Peace of Mind helps teens and parents understand each other through talks and workshops that build stronger families and healthier minds.

About Us

H2H Peace of Mind is a Bay Area nonprofit for young people and their families. Through talks and workshops, we help parents and teens listen to and understand each other, support teens’ mental health, and help parents strengthen their own relationship, so home feels calm and safe.

We also help young people understand themselves, handle peer pressure, and build good relationships with teachers and friends.

How to Start

  1. 01

Notice. At our Inspiration Lab talks, speakers share how they turned hard times into strength, helping teens and parents recognize what they are going through.

  2. 02

Speak up. Our Heart to Heart workshops guide teens and parents to talk openly about feelings, stress, peer pressure, and getting along at home, at school and with friends.

  3. 03

Get support. If you or your teen needs more help, email us at heartoheartpeaceofmind@gmail.com. Our licensed therapist, Yansong Hong, Licensed Marriage and Family Therapist (LMFT) #158967, will help you find the right next step. In a crisis, call or text 988 any time.

  4. 04

Help others. Give your time, skills or supplies as a volunteer. Graduate students: ask us about the H2H Fellowship.

Our Values

Each value, where it shows up in our work, and a question to talk over at home.

Empowerment

Helping young people find their voice and speak up for what they need.

In our work

Our Heart to Heart workshops guide teens and parents to explore their own feelings and experiences, so they take an active part in their wellbeing instead of only receiving care.

Ask each other

When did you last feel really listened to? What made the difference?

Innovation

Bringing compassion and new ideas together.

In our work

Our Speaker Spotlight includes people who build new things: a senior software engineer at Waymo, the head of AI for Google Pixel Watch, and a quantum AI scientist.

Ask each other

If you could change one thing at school or in our town, what would you try first?

Inclusivity

Making room for every family and every background.

In our work

In August 2026 we held free group sessions for teenagers, and a three-part talk series in Chinese for parents of teens. See our past talks.

Ask each other

Who might feel left out at school, and what could make them feel welcome?

Mental Health

Caring for our minds early, not only in a crisis.

In our work

Our talks and workshops are preventative support. When a teen needs more, our licensed therapist helps the family find the right next step. In a crisis, call or text 988 any time.

Ask each other

What helps you feel calm after a hard day?

Integrity

Being honest and open about who we are.

In our work

Our therapists are listed with their license or registration numbers on our team page, so anyone can look them up with the state, and our nonprofit record (EIN 99-0933432) is at the foot of every page.

Ask each other

When is it hard to tell the truth, and what makes it easier?
